Have bought a nice jumping saddle shaped numnah and it comes with the short straps ie attaches to D rings - This is fine but then where do folks then attach a breastplate? theres not enough room on the d rings for both - is this correct or am I being a wally and have missed something really obvious?!?

Ive got a bates momentum so just the one D ring... its one of the lemeiux plain jumping numnahs.

Im using it with a half sheepskin pad which has normal straps so im guessing i could loop the short straps round the ones of the sheepskin pad if that makes sense?

Only one set of D's on ours, breast plate goes through them and numnah tapes through the breast plate between the D and the buckle so it does not slip and looks tidy, but I guess it depends on the design of your numnah and breast plate.

yep, can do what you say about looping it round the sheepskin pad.... or I've got the lemieux cc pad too and don't use the d ring straps, just the girth ones and it stays in place fine. I found the straps were too wide to go comfortably through the d rings (also have a bates momentum) and already have the straps of my nuumed half pad through, which incidentally works fine with my breastplate as it has clips on the straps so room to clip on too.

Old Dairy Saddlery do some d-rings which are attached to cord so you slip them over the stirrup bars and hey presto, extra d-rings. Cost about £1.50. I use these and attach saddlecloth to them, breastplate to the ones on the saddle. Problem solved.

hmmm well my breastplate does have clips so i guess it might all squeeze on? will give it a try tomorrow......

Haha, I need more attachments on the front of my saddle - numnah, breastplate and point two straps, im suprised theres any room left for me on there!

ooo spottedcat they look ideal...... I'll try and see what its like without first - as I put in the last post ive got enough going on on the front of the saddle without adding extra pieces but will bear those in mind, they look pretty nifty!

does anyone know where you can get clips that you can attach to your breastplate? I have a lovely one but it would be much easier if I could use clips rather than the buckle so wanted to buy clips to attach but cannot find any anywhere

sorry to hijack OP! :)

Arctic fox ebay is worth a look just make sure they are sturdy enough though but these look quite good, it just depends on the size too.

ETA: These are probably a better size.
