Brought the horses up home this afternoon, as we normally do on a Sunday. It was Blue's first introduction to traffic and I had no idea how he was going to behave. He was fine on walk up (150 yards), very alert, very nosy, having a good neb at everything. He trotted round the garden, into everything, before settling and having a good graze.
When we went back to the field however, we were exposed to idiot drivers. A motorbike was coming up behind us at speed, despite there being a 30 mph limit. I made the 'slow down' hand gesture but he ignored me and went roaring past. Bless him, Blue didn't bat an eyelid. However, he did take exception to a large camper van that came past way too fast and way too close, despite me being dressed up in head to toe in hi viz. The stupid van nearly ended up with Blue embedded in its side as he swung round in a panic
Idiots.
Despite that, Blue was fab and I was very proud of him. He saw so many things that he hasn't seen before and took it all in his stride.
A couple of gratuitous pics of Blue:
Now on to dear old Ellie
I am still worrying about her weight, or lack of. She is fit and healthy and very very shiny, but I can't seem to get weight on her. She is on max recommended daily allowance of Alpha A Oil, Speedibeet and 16+. The grazing is good. I know at 27 she isn't going to look her best but I need the weight on her before we go into winter. Here she is today:
And a pic of the two of them.
Sorry for pic overload
