Please could you take a look at the link below to my photo bucket account and CC this 6yo 15.2 IDx mare. Price is £4K which includes 5* vetting and transport from Ireland to UK.

Any thoughts please gratefully received. Looking to have RC level SJ/ODE/Dressage/Showing fun and perhaps a bit of affiliated showing too.

I want to buy her not sell her before anyone pushes a button on me!

I think she looks gorgeous in the photos. I do think she looks as though she potentially may be a little heavy in the hand and wonder what she'd be like in a snaffle (significant if you're wanting to do dressage).

Are you contemplating buying her without trying her first?

For the price, what's her history?

Those are my initial thoughts :p

I agree I think she is a lovely looking girl but more built up on the front than behind i think she needs more work actually working from behind and as Oddjobs W put looks possibly to be leaning slightly- did notice the bit as well ? is there a particular reason why she can't go in a snaffle i.e does she get really strong and also if your looking to do dressage with her maybe something you want to think about but lovely looking girl - are you going to try her?

Another one who thinks she looks quite downhill, but very, very pretty . . . the heaviness in front might be down to how she is being ridden, though, so it's hard to tell/know.

I think she looks very nice but if you are planning to buy her without trying her, or it is an expensive trip to Ireland for you, then I would want to see a video of her walking away and back, ditto trot, walk/trot/canter on a circle and a straight line.

I would also only buy with a warranty that you can vet her again once you get her home and return if she does not match the vet certificate she is supplied with. This is normal practice at auctions where there are no exercise facilities.

ps I think there is a possibility that she has capped hocks, which might limit her showing capabilities.

personally she's not my cuppa tea but my CC is-down hill ride, stuffy neck, and tied in below the knee. I also don't like her eye-gives me the sensation of pig headedness.

I have to agree that I resisted writing that too. I thought it was probably just my own prejudice but she doesn't look to me like she has a "kind eye" either.

I just get the impression that she's heavy in front. Her front legs don't look in proportion with how much she's got on her chest and shoulder. Pretty, but if you're looking for something 'correct' and 'square' then this isn't the one, in my opinion.

It really is great to see others' comments and what people pick up. I too am thinking capped hocks, having looked again. I can't see obvious tied below the knee - not saying it isn't, just not sure enough from photos.

I think she has a kind eye, which doesn't fit with other's comments

Agree with CPT about warranty etc if buying unseen.

Do let us know the outcome!

Thanks guys - I am going to get photos of legs and video. If these are OK I will venture over to try. Just need to make sure I am on the right track before calling Ryan Air!

She looks quite a nice sort although would echo most of the above - she definitely looks short in the neck and appears to be leaning on the hand in the ridden photos. I'm just surprised that there is nothing comparable a bit closer to home! Do you know how she is bred? I think she has got a nice eye though!
