Hi there,

Does anyone else own this style/make saddle or are you a saddle fitter who has fitted/maintained one of these saddles?

I purchased a brand new one a few months ago. It is a lovely saddle and appears to fit my horse very well.

Now I want to get the fit checked by a qualified saddle fitter, as obviously the flocking will have compacted and I want to make sure my horse is comfy. I spoke to the fitter I had for my last saddle, but he seems to think these saddles are difficult to adjust as the panels are different and has appeared reluctant to come and help!

I'm not sure if his reluctance is due to it being the busy season, or if these saddles are a ba*l ache? They are a subsidiary of Stubben, and I don't know if because I have mentioned Stubben, it has put him off. I was very happy with one of his employees who fitted my last existing saddle so I'm just disappointed he has not been forthcoming with this one.

I have emailed a couple of other saddle fitters but just wondered what other peoples experiences are of this saddle?

Many thanks! :)

I dont' like working on Stubbens to be honest, lots of quilting in the panels but then they don't fit like the saddles I usually fit, I prefer saddles that are made and fit vaguely along the lines of ours (English made, wide, flat).

I'm not familiar with your brand of saddle but AFAIK Stubben saddles are flocked with felt. Have you looked on their website or contacted them to find out if the panels are more difficult to adjust than usual? The manufacturer may be able to recommend someone.

Thanks for your replies. I believe it is wool flocking and have found the following info on a website:

Le Parcour CS:
*An all leather half seat jumping / eventing saddle.
*Built on a world famous spring tree - providing a perfect fit and maximum comfort for your horse.
*Back blocks for effective leg position.
*Wool packed.
*The ideal saddle for the competitive horse rider.
*Colours: Black or Choco Brown
*Sizes: 17" and 17 ½"
*Gullet sizes: 29, 30, 31 and 32

I've tried finding a manufacturer's website but had no luck yet (likely my poor web searching lol)

Thanks again for your comments :)
