Cellulitis??

This morning mine has swollen pastern

No heat and sound

Was thinking start of cellulitis’s possibly thinking poss due to the grass possibly ? And we had differnt hay last week but been on this a week so thinking not that

Waiting on vets call back

Have they been in a stable all night or turned out?

If in a stable, is it the first time they've been in for the night?

Hi no been at night all the time , is sensitive so easily could be the higher protein in the grass ect

When mine had cellulitis it got rapidly worse, became hot and then the other leg started swelling as well. You should be able to tell fairly quickly how it's going.

Is it possible there is a small nick or scab somewhere. Mine gets a fat leg with the tiniest cut. His leg also came up when he had a hoof abcess.
Movement is usually the key to taking it down.

If you suspect cellulitis get the vet and antibiotics asap. I am not the only person on this forum to have alost a horse to cellulitis.

No signs of cellulitis’s vets happy with him , completey down this afternoon no no need for antibiotics,

Vets think just flush of grass higher protein as he’s very sensitive
