I said I'd do some information gathering for a technophobe pal (thinks I'm odd going on forums until she wants help!!!)

What do people think in general about Chacco Blue and Diarado?

And who represents them now - is it best to go direct to Shockemole or are we still better using (some) agents? I'm sure I heard Elite have picked these two up to represent?

Have to ask as I stuck to British bred and knew what I was doing with that, she's decided to go global which I never have...

Well depends on the mare really....and your budget....Chacco Blue is the more proven of the two in that he has a decent competition record himself and some graded sons coming to the floor AND he is cheaper than Diarado...

Diarado is the current 'in' thing...whilst stunning I just feel he is slighty overpriced for his age, etc.

Agent front...not 100% sure...believe they are either available direct or through Elite Stallions over here at the moment......not sure though..

Well its kind of a double question in that she has a fancy for Chacco Blue, she has a nice mare that she jumps, good breeding and temp, but getting on a bit. She has a youngster to bring on and thought she might breed off the mare now while she concentrates on bringing the youngster through.

Money isn't an issue other than she wants quality not over priced, though would maybe take a risk on unproven if the price was right.

I might have got sidetracked on the Shockemole site and drooled over Diarado...

i love diarado and wouldnt have a problem over his price if i wanted to breed a serious horse. If you google lambridden stud they are agents for shockemole.

is chacco blue the father of chacomo or the other way round? whichever is the son i though he looked a bit grumpy in the dvd, but i was being nit picky when watching! There's a recent search on here where someone said they had visited shockemole's (i think it was maybe Volatis - if thats the right name - they have a coloured foal as their avater!)

depends on what you want to do with the foal. if she wants to sell the foal as a foal then a more commercial stallion would be a better idea, however if she wants to keep the foal and produce it then choose the stallion that suits the mare best... that may not be chacco or diarado.

If you speak to Schokemohle they will tell you that Chacco Blue and Balou du Rouet are producing the best stock. Chacco is proving himself at top level and as a sire.
As far as agents go, I think it is much easier to deal with the stud direct. Also the German VAT is less than the British.

Im not a Chacco fan he does nothing for me IMO i wanted to use Diarado this year but when speaking to Cristoph at PS he said he will be very busy and unlikey to get semen? Lambridden is where i get my semen they are great and Julie i really helpful it takes away the stress of doing it your self she does it all for you!

We have one due by Diarado any day now so I will keep you posted as to whether he is worth all the hype!
We also have 2 stunning youngsters by Chacco Blue and can highly recomend him as a sire in the quality of his offspring

Greymares, did you import the mare in foal or get semen shipped to the UK and if so was it chilled or frozen??
Be very interested to see pics of foal when born, is that the mare that is in foal to him in the photo's above or a Chacco Blue offspring? Nice horse.

Wow that it one cracking youngster!!! Beautiful!

When I googled Chacco Blue it came up World Class Stallions, but if my memory serves me right there were people with covering cert issues weren't there? Does anyone know if these problems are resolved and if they are still trading?

Gorgeous horse in photos Greymares. I too would be interested in your feedback on Diarado once your special bundle arrives.

His price in Oz is steep when considering his age and unknown breeding performance status. However, his pedigree is quite exceptional and possibly worth the gamble if you have a mare that is likely to nick well. Hmmm, still doing my due diligence on this . . . only 4 straws per dose too.

The Chacco Blue colt in the photo is a 3 year old who I am pleased to say was registered with the AES at the grading today although he was a bit over excited to show his full potential.
I was home alone, on foal watch and our Diarado filly was born last night (along with a Coriano colt who was 2 weeks early).
I have to say the filly is stunning and yes he is worth the hype! The mare was imported in foal and is a big old fashioned type of mare by Chambertin and he has certainley added blood and refined her.
Some photos of her less than 12 hours old and when I feel a bit more awake will do some better ones.
We also had an outstanding colt born on Tuesday by Berlin out of a Carthago mare so an excellent week so far.....really looking forward to a glass of wine and bed!!!
