Does anyone have any experience/comments about the Chaigley 3.5 tonne conversions.

I am looking at buying a Chaigley Duo Weekender for my 16.3hh Irish Sports Horse.

Will there be plenty of room for him?

Anyone had any bad experiences with them?

Open to any comments.

Thanks.

You need to Check the payload and get your horse on a weigh bridge so you can make an accurate calculation if the van can carry enough to cover your needs

The headroom is well over 7ft in them, higher than any trailer. I had one before and loved it, really well built box and could carry 1070kg.

Hi

I have a Chaigley Duo - its fab. But you must check the payload on it. Mine has 850kgs which is great for my 15hh cob who weighs approx 500kg and my tack etc. I do not transport anyone else it for the simple reason I would be over the payload. I wouldn't risk it if you need to carry more than one horse.

I'm sure headroom will be plenty enough for your 16.3hh.

I like the high breast bar/partition thing and the ramp is nice and light to lift with one hand if needed.

Mine is built onto a Y reg Renault Master - I bought it used about a year and a half ago.

I've not had a lorry before so have nothing else to compare it to but I do personally think the build quality is good. My only criticism is that the tack locker is just a bit narrow for my dressage saddle (with knee rolls).
