Chain Breast Bars?

I have recently bought a Bahill trailer that has chain breastbars..cover in foam for extra padding. Need re-assuring that these are safe to use and I dont need to replace with a solid breastbar? Many thanks in advance...x

I certainly don't fancy it. My boys brace themselves on thier breast or breach bars and I'm not sure a chain would give that support. But it might be more forgiving if a horse lurches into it I suppose. But personally I'd stick with that I know and get a solid one!

ive just made a breast and breach bar for my bahill just under 2" square box section.
i really wouldnt trust a chain incase you had to break pretty sharp

I replaced the chains that were in my Sinclair to IW bars and fixings, I'm much happier that the horse will stay where she's put now.
