Hi Guys,
I am thinking of getting a training aid for when i lunge, but not sure what to go for.
I am new to the horse world so i need alot of advice regulary,
should i go for a Chambon or elastic training reins, which gives better results and is more comfortable for the horse?
Thanks guys:)

Personally I prefer the chambon. Just make sure, as with any training aids, that you introduce its action gradually, give the horse sufficient time to warm up, and build up the work level over a period of weeks.

If you are new to the game, then I'd get someone to give you a hand to ensure it is fitted correctly and to make sure you are lungeing properly too. If you are on a yard there is usually someone lurking about that would be very happy to help - :D

Hope you get on ok - keep us updated!

I've only ever used side reins (presume thats what the training reins are?) and always had great results. I've heard good things about the chambon, but the only people I've seen use them are people who want to their horse's head in a certain position. I'm sure this is not what it was designed for! And I guess like any equipment it depends how well you can use it and what you want out of it.

Thank you guys,
I think i will give th chambon a try, Ive been told it will help build up neck muscles as well as having th had in the right position, will keep you updatd..
Thanks:D

The great thing about the chambon is that it is very rewarding for the horse, when the head is in the correct position it will slacken off.

This will help with your ridden work, a little pressure on the reins and the horse will seek his reward!
