Bit of a back story: We sold trilby a little cobby lad whome i broke in and started, a georgeous little fellow :D however we unfortunately had to sell him due to having my other horse and a slight change in circumstances that made it only possible to have one horse so off he went to suffolk :eek:
Bearing in mind im in the north east so a whooping 300 miles away.
After getting in contact with his now owners as he was sold a while after going down there it turns out he is up for sale again due to his owners having a change of circumstance and only being able to afford one horse (sound familliar?)
So due to the change in circumstance of his owner we would be getting him for a rather nice price ;)
But here is the problem, how do i get him the 300 miles home? nothing is a done deal but i want my little lad back soo much especially as rosie had to be pts in november :(
Baaaah what to do, what to do!
 
Can you not rent a small lorrie for the day? We don't have any transport of our own but if we want to go to a show just rent a 3.5 toner that you can drive with normal licence, not to expensive at £100 a day. Good luck
 
Get on that phone and find a transport company and go for it!! Budget until you've paid yourself back. What an opportunity - sounds like it was meant to be :D Go on then, what are you waiting for??! :)
 
Either rent a horsebox for the day - there's some in Northallerton so sort of mid way from you. Think theres one called A1 Horse Transport? Or get a transporter to collect for you. A friend of mine runs hot-to-trot horse transport, she's based around Wetherby way so again sort of midway for you. I don't know how far they travel but it's just a nice Equitrek 3.5T box so less fuel expense. She got my sister's horse ready and transported him to and from my sister's wedding for her last year and did a fab job.

You can google them but she's pretty reasonable price wise I think. That's the best thing to do anyway if you don't have your own transport. Oh, and I'm sorry to hear about your other horse :(

I have just arranged transport of 280 miles, £230. single load.

Google transporters, a site will come up with lots of them on, put in your requirements and they will all contact you. The cheapest way to do it is a shared load, but the horse will have a longer trip than on as a single.
 
Transporters and ask for a shared load if possible. Will cost you waaay less than driving all the way over there and back I would think!
 
Eric Gillie horse transporter dropped one off for me, from Scotland to Sleaford on a shared load it was £300 + vat, the lorry carried on on their merry way to Kyngs Lynn. They tell me they run that trip every week.
 
You could also try P&L Luck (Equine Freight). They are based in Liskeard, but run regularly up and down the whole of GB. I used them to transport my horse from Hull (they were coming down from Scotland) all the way to Cornwall, with an overnight stop, about 2 yrs ago, and they charged £300. They were lovely, and very efficient.
