For anyone interested, we did our first ever "proper" show last week - BSPA winter champs - had a great weekend and Chancer did so well - see pics in the gallery.

He is growing up so fast, he will be 3 in June, and I am so pleased with him I could burst. He is a good 14.3 and still bum up and we expect him to be 15.1/15.2 when he finishes growing.

Training is going well and he is now ready to be ridden for a little longer than the 10 minutes I have been doing once a week and start small hacks. Whilst I have done the backing, as I am nearly 10 stone, I have called in a lovely really lightweight, excellent confident teenager to start his hacks out and building up the riding time slowly to 30 minutes over the summer and ridden twice a week. I will accompany on Cairo the first couple of hacks but then want him out and about without another horse.

Once he has built up with a lighter rider, I then hope to do a little more with him over the winter and start some gentle schooling ready for maybe doing some shows under the saddle next year.

Awww, thanks for the update Theresa.

Chancer is a lovely chap isn't he?

I've not seen a picture of him for a while. Would love to see how he's filled out. Bet he's changed loads.
