Just wondering I know greys change colour quite a lot, what about other colours do they change at all depending on the time of year ... just curious... pics please?
I have a bay roan who constantly changes colour to the point people call him a chamelion. His body goes grey in summer, then as he starts getting his winter coat he sort if turns appaloosa with dark spots coming through, then he goes all bay in winter. Will try and post some pics when i am not on daughters laptop.
My mare is bay. In summer she is a chestnut/cherry bay and the tips of her hair are golden (if you get what I mean) so she has a goldeny cast to her and then when the winter coat comes in she goes a really dark bay
my old bay went much much darker in winter, chestnut boy doesn't change at all, he's always orange Big grey is getting more fleabitten every summer, she goes back to white grey in the winter. daughters newest pony is passported as bay but to me he looks chocolate dun complete with dorsal stripe, he's started going darker as his coat changes so will be interesting to see what his winter woolies are like
