Decided to give up on Arab hunt for the time being. The story is MoM is to be retired imminently to live as a companion to a 19 year old sex maniac gelding (lucky girl!) so we were trying to buy an Arab for me to do endurance on next year and OH would take over FB. However with the problems we are having finding said Arab we have now decided to buy a riding horse that both OH and I can ride for the time being, allowing MoM to retire. So, having made this decision I find this on the internet yesterday and we are off to see him this evening as he is very close to us. Here's hoping he is OK....

Precio negociable

Anglo Arabe gelding (16.97% arab I assume) with papers (passport I should think, not papers). 15.3 - 16hh. Fabulous character - like a big dog!. 6 years old. Used to hacking out, lots of stamina and speed. If you ask him he will go if not he will just walk without making a fuss. Come and see him and try him. Only for horse lovers. Price negotiable.

Not a bad advert as they go over here! I'm particularly impressed by the 'Only for horse lovers' which means guy wants a good home for him rather than just cash.

He does look sweet! And the add sounds good, but (there always is one) I think his face looks older than 6. But it could be the photos...
Let us know how the viewing goes!

Out of curiosity, I assume you are in Uruguay by the adds, and the curency is the peso isnt it? Because I get the Euros symbol on the adds or do they use the same symbol?

A bit useless as a riding horse at the moment, and for endurances but I wouldn't mind owning this one when he is older!

No, I'm in Spain - so we're on euros. I thought he looked older so I will be scrutinising his 'papers' closely. I'm not too bothered as long as he is not 16!!

Felicity_09 -.... But he is too young for me, according to his shaved tail

I may, however, be going to see an hispano-arabe 4 year old at the weekend, who's parents are both endurance racers....

I did that. I don't know how it is in spain but here most of the arabs for sale seemed to be youngstock and the occasional crappy looking one. I ended up buying another sports horse. I'd really like an arab one day though. Good luck finding something, even when you broaden the criteria you just end up with more rubbish to sieve through!

LOL, this is Spain - I'm lucky the picture is even of the horse they are advertising!! Fortunately he is about 10 miles away so not too far to go and look at, even if his legs turn out to be at right angles to his knees. I'll get some photos and put them up later. Ad says he can be ridden when viewed so I'm taking my tack in case of excuses!
