I was supposed to have a lesson with Lucy T today, but she sadly had to cancel
However Norton Heath decided to move their unaffiliated SJ indoors (due to the forecast ) so for the 2nd week running I took Spider there for showjumping.
Another plus point, was that as I was doing classes 2 & 3, and there was clear round & a class first, it wasn't even an early start for once
He has really come on in the last few months & as his canter is so much more balanced, the fences seem to come to us & it feels like he takes it all in his stride. Plus I'm not over-riding it all
He jumped a double clear in our first class & come 3rd and had a clear & 4 faults (just rubbed the 2nd fence, but it made him jump higher for the rest of the course
) in the second class and came 5th
So we got to do 2 prize givings, with lap's of honour
which we both enjoyed.
I'm really pleased with him & his progress, but just as importantly, I'm finally enjoying my showjumping. I walked both courses & didn't feel any of the fences were too big, so I think we're both ready to start jumping a bit bigger. My aim now is to hopefully be jumping british novice with him by the new year.
I could even get in to this SJ lark, having mainly done BE or BD for as long as I can remember
