Gina (my collie) is about 10, and has recently become a TOTAL nightmare pain in the bum, from barking/yapping and chasing the horses (which she did when she was younger but leanrt not to) to sitting so close to alex & I we trip over her, to barking at things that aren't there (she's never been a barker) she is just behaving really strangly and i was wondering if these are signs she could be going deaf, i had to give her a really good telling off this morning as she was tormenting Ian and chasing him round the stable, she'll chase the horses away from their feed, and generally make a nuisance of herself, which is very out of character, she also just doesn't seem herself, and is very clingy (to the point of impractical... you cannot get a collie & a person in our downstairs loo!)

she's having the same (if not more) attention as usual, and looks healthy & shiny in her coat & eyes,

Have you changed her food? I changed the Greyhounds food which gave her more energy cue whining at 1 oclock in the morning. Could it be her hormones changing, maybe a blood test might help.

Sorry I can be of more use

Did you see my post before your's- about my Dobie who's behaviour has changed? Some similar symptoms as you have described. Its worrying when dogs display sudden changes in behaviour - I'm at the vets with mine tonight to get checked. I have made a list of all the things she does that are strange and possible things I want to have checked- it might be worth you doing the same if your off to the vets.
Hope she's OK.

yes, but she's been with us since August & her behaviour has only changed in the last couple of weeks, so it seems odd that would have an effect, esp when she seemed SO SO happy to move away from mothers & her awful terrier!

Hmmmm - still could be that she is feeling jealous as she is very intelligent - she knows chasing the horses will gain herself the focus of your attention, that if she barks she will get your attention etc - could be that she thought that the move was only temp - now she has to watch you and Alex cuddled up every night she is peed off (However I am not a dog psyc and am prob WAY off!) Unless you are pregnant and she can sense that

shotgun wedding ha ha!

we make sure she has loads of fuss and gets to play with her toys when we get home from work, i think she gets far more attention now she's living with us as we have a much better routine, she worships Alex so whether becasue he's been stressed with work recently she's acting up i'm not sure, but she was just plain cruel to Ian this morning!

is she going through the change hehe could be somthing hormonal you know .. collies can change too as they get older just the breed they get snappy too and generally lesss sociable but then again some dont ... depends on the dog ..
i cant type i have stupid fake nails on its so hard to type !!!
