Last month I changed my raw supplier to manifold valley meats as I wanted minced turkey carcass at a reasonable cost. I started feeding my 2 older girls the same quantity as before only to discover they have both put on 2-3 kg in 6 weeks. Consequently volumes have now been reduced and both are on diets. My old lady cannot afford to carry this extra weight as she has arthritis in her shoulder. On the other hand they are both now cheap to keep.
Has anyone else experienced this with dogs that gave been raised and reared raw?

I experienced it the other way round! Changed suppliers for slightly cheaper food and my dog lost an incredible amount of weight very quickly! I do like MVM. Its really good quality :)

My dog loves MVM, he has 3.5% of his body weight (unlike the suggested 2-3% for raw) simply because he does so much. He competes, and runs 6 days a week with me.

Over winter he competes less, so reduce his food a bit. Just take it day by day. If you think they're getting fat or thin, reduce or up the food :) it's really simple!

My bitch gets 3% give or take, the dog can get ridiculous amounts! Some days he eats a kg a day and he's only 15kgs! He should be the size of a house yet he's in lovely lean condition. I feed mine by eye mostl although it helps knowing a pack is 450gms give or take

I have always fed by eye, never actually calculated percentage. I am fussy about my dogs weights as I hate to see fat dogs. My old lady is a retired working trials and agility dog so has always been fit, but due to her arthritis her exercise is restricted. She is on cartrofen which has helped the lameness a little. In her mind she thinks she can still run after a ball! Poor old girl
I have been feeding raw for 16 years and I think this is the first time I have had to reduced food so drastically. Brilliant for my pocket so I will recommend MVM
