Changes in the vetting guidelines how do they impact sellers?

Hi, everyone. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of the new vetting procedures where vets have to disclose their previous knowledge of the horse.

Does this mean they have to disclose ALL previous knowledge or just recent history? Even if the horse is sound and healthy on the vetting ? Is it just for insurance purposes? I just wanted to get peoples advice and experience on the matter. I appreciate your responses in advance.

I am not sure if it will make any difference as most vets have never seen a horse they are vetting before. They have to reveal all history they know on that horse.

In many years of both buying and selling horses only a couple of months ago when buying a horse locally, was my vet also the vendors vet. This never bothered me at all and I now that had he ever seen the horse for a lameness reason he would have said. (In fact he had vetted the horse a couple of years previously and apart from routine injections had never seen the horse since!)
