Tia has really grown up this year - she's chilled out and lost that 'crazy' attitude she possessed over the summer when she tried me out. She used to gallop round a SJ course (having me off a few times in the process

) but now will sit and wait for the right stride which is a beautiful feeling

How has/have your horse(s) changed in '07?

Horse became SO much more willing to do what I ask, like go on the bit and school lovely (lots of extention!)
Her jumping is near fearless! I have so much more confidence in xc now, was beaming after jumping nice 3ft logs with a cyclist heding for us!

On the other hand...she's also gotten worse on the health front

most vets bills this year that any other years that we've had her. Fingers crossed that next year will be better on that front!

Huge vets bills and loads of time off work mean that she hasn't improved her schooling in the way I had planned this year but in every other way she continues to excel. From a horse that people said should be shot 18 months ago because she was dangerous on the ground she has become docile, easy and trusting. Tonight I took her in the school to play and practised doing "stay" for when we might do trec and she has to stand still without me. She was perfect, something that was inconceivable even 6 months ago. It just proves what a little love and patience can do

My mare used to be a lunatic, we had her back looked at by three different physios previous to '07, and two this year, and it was only the last person this year that noticed that she had a twisted pelvis by approx 1inch, she had that adjusted, and am now a member of byrds, doing sensible stuff, and unaff eventing 3ft 3! YAY!!!!
