Due to new fencing going in in my current field I'm moving my girls to another which has direct access to a non busy 'B' road. I was curious to know how you have secured your gates, whether you use chain and padlock or have any tips and ideas. Thankyou.

Chain and padlocks but not to keep out thieves (they just use cutters) just to stop or deter kids getting in and leaving gates open

Reverse the hinges on the gates so that the gates can not be lifted off. Have a metal box welded on to the gate latch so that the padlock can not be easily angle ground off. Ensure all the horses are freezemarked on their shoulders. Ensure that you have Summer and Winter photos of each horse from the front and rear and both sides. Ensure all the horses are also freezemarked. Ensure the horses are listed on the www.nedonline.co.uk web site with their pictures updated on them so that if they are stolen you can update the horses records to the status of stolen.
