Want to change instructors. Present instructor also YO. Runs a perfectly decent yard but I have found another instructor who I feel will be much better. YO not a friend or anything, just YO and instructor.Other people have instructors who are not on the yard but when someone came to help me with Callums slightly pushy attitude on the ground and just to do a bit of NH with me feathers were definately ruffled.

ive just done this too,but i now go away from yard for lessons. The lesson is now away from home which is far better. Are you able to go somewhere to have a lesson to avoid any issues??

I liked my YO as a teacher but lessons got a bit samey ( after a couple of years)if you know what i mean! I need a fresh set of eyes to help me.

Yup I agree would be easier if you took him somewhere else - you could say you wanted to get your horse used to working in different places or something. If you want the other instructor to come on to the yard, it's more tricky, but I would just be honest and say you would like someone who has never seen your horse before for a some fresh ideas. Good luck with it.

If there will be issues on the yard with you taking a different instructor & you have transport, take yourself off somewhere else for the lesson. Sometimes a change of instructor is like a breath of fresh air & you start to move forward rapidly.
