Changing insurance - WARNING!

For everyone thinking about changing their insurance company please, please be aware that your horse is NOT COVERED for anything but accidents in the first two weeks. You need to take out your new insurance two weeks BEFORE you stop your old one.

A friend of mine was caught by this and had a horse die of colic after an operation and was left uninsured with a bill of thousands of £s they didn't have :(

Great advice. This is exactly what we were recommended to do by Julie Andrews when we took a policy through her, to ensure continuity of cover.

Sorry to hear what happened to your friend.

This is completely true same thing


bought my pony within the 1st week she colicked - not insured lucky she didnt need surgery but 5 weeks later died of colic was insured by then


my new pony i left in wales 2 weeks before bring her to uk once insurance kicked in.
sorry for her loss

hense now i dont use insurance for my horses just have bank account with £ 1000 for when i need it .
