Jumped both my horses today and noticed BOTH of them seem to switch their lead last stride of a fence, my gelding not as bad as my mare but my mare does it near enough every time!
Am I the problem?! I think I might be if they are both doing it!
Does anyone have any tips to avoid this happening? Is it possibly my weight shifting causing them to change, or a bad approach? I have no idea 🙈

I would take a video and try and work out what was going on. Are they taking off from both hind legs at the same time with the same power and the same distance away from the fence?

Or are they fiddling to get the power off one preferred leg?

Both seem to be jumping from both hinds pushing off at the same time but hard to tell with the angle of my videos.
My gelding seems to do it if I kill the canter a bit too much he’ll go change and pop, my mare is stumping me tho as doesn’t do it at a show but near enough every time jumping at home 🙃
Wasn’t sure if I am putting them off balance and causing the change?
