My Grey TB has had melanoma's since i've owned him.

He has 3 under his tail, one of which seems to have recently changed.

Its right at the top of the underside of his doc and seems to have increased in size from spherical 1 pence piece to 2 pence piece size and this evening as I was brushing his tail I touched it very lightly and he clamped his tail down which is unlike him.

Can anyone tell me if this change is likely to mean the melanoma is not benine? This is the first time it's changed in the 4 years i've had him.

and just to add the vet is coming out in 2 weeks and will have a look but wondered if anyone had similar experiences?

Increase in size itself is not indicative of a malignant tumour. Other factors are speed of growth, change in texture, shape and ulceration. Your vet is the best one to advise, but record the size over time and note changes as above. Fingers crossed he's ok.

Thanks, I'm hoping it's nothing but he has been a bit 'off' recently so we are going through having everyone out to give him an MOT - teeth, back, all over chiro, vet, saddle fitter... :(
