How do you go about changing microchip information?
I want to register myself as my boys new owner but have no paper work or anything to do with his microchip. I have the number and that's it.
What do I have to do?

Are you saying you have a chip number but no passport?

Register on www.Nedonline.co.uk
You will have to buy a little credit.
put the microchip number into search and with any luck up should come his passport.
You can then contact the PIO and request a duplicate--you may have to send photocopy of bill of sale.

Please PM me for more help if necessary

Sorry I can't have been very clear. I have both his passport and chip number but I want to make it so when his chip is scanned it shows he belongs to me but I don't know how to go about making that happen.

if you can get your vet to scan the chip or ring them and give them the number, they call a micro chip data base which has all uk chip registered on it, they will be able to tell the vet which company (ie> pet-id or identichip or whatever ) it is registered with. then all you have to do is ring them up and tell them you are the new owner and would like to have the names changed.... they will send out a form to previous reg owner for them to sign , (and if they dont sign after 28 days it is automatically signed to you anyway) then all you have to do is ring and check... but they do normally send out a letter confirming all your info and the chip number ect xxx hope that helps xx

That helped loads thank you! Problem is the boy's from Ireland and I'm not sure if he was chipped there or when he came over. He's got his vacs due in a few weeks so I'll ask the vet what to do. Thank you for your help. x
