Ok I popped this in another section but I didnt get any hits so here goes. Its about my 22yrs old BF welsh X. Hes dropped a bit of weight and went off his current diet.
BF people hows this for a feed change and will it have a detrimental effect.
Currently on
Alfalfa chaff
Veteran vitality
Linseed meal
joint and hoof supps.
He gets a round scoop of chaff per feed and a round scoop of the VV dry (soaked feed) between the feeds, along with the linseed and supps. This he gets twice a day but he has went off the VV so im going back to the what i used to feed him but changing the chaff.
Spillers conditioning fibre, he loved this when I gave him it and I could add water and all the pellets in it swelled and he licked the bowl clean
Alfalfa Pellets He loves these in his ball and I can soak them and add them as extra for weight gain
Linseed Meal basically for weight gain and the fact that I can add loads if he drops anymore and I dont have to worry about Vit E/Selenium deficiency
Any BF folks see a problem with the above?? Horse is cereal intolerant so everything I feed has to be have low starch (less then 10% doesnt seem to trigger him)
