Chapped lips - horse

My 23 yr old keeps getting chapped lips mainly in the corners of his mouth. He has quite wrinkly lips and in each crease it’s getting sore and crusty. The first time I bathed them each day cleaning out any gunk and put some Vaseline on twice a day. That cleared it up but now it’s come back. I’m doing the same again but he’s never had this in the 13 years I’ve had him but it’s happened 3 times this winter.

Has anyone had anything similar? I’m wondering if it’s some sort of deficiency or just the bitter weather.

a cream with lanolin in it will last better than vaseline so will help more i should think

I found Carmex was good.
