I know there have been many posts done on this but unfortunately my search facility doesn't appear to want to work! I'm looking new chaps and jod boots. I currently have suede Tuffa chaps and Dublin boots, but the boots are a bit tight and the chaps are starting to look tatty. I have saved up money so looking a good set of boots and chaps that will really last. Anyone any recommendations?

Ariats !

Seriously, I bought some Ariat jod boots the other day (the Heritage zip paddock ones, not the painfully expensive Cobalt ones) and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever ridden in, and really help my foot position.

The Ariat Very Very Expensive Chaps (or whatever they are called - the ones with the suede quilting on the inside) are amazing as well, and look the business with the boots. A few people at my yard have them and they stand up very well to daily yard duties and riding.

Ariats

I love mine three years old worn every day and still look great also compete in them sometimes as the are in good enough quality. The have lasted longer than anything else I have had. I prefer the lace ups last longer than Zips - personal preferance.

My ariat chaps have the swede inside too. have not used the other ones

If you're going to buy the boots, I strongley suggest parting with more cash and going for the £150 Devon Pro ones over the Heritage £70 ones. Are worth the extra cost IMHO (having worn both types before now)

And make sure you keep them well polished when you first get them!

I have Ariat boots with Sergio Grasso Torino gaiters. They are very snazzy and a bit different to the ariat gaiters. Have them in black & brown.
Have worn the black ones every day for 4 years now and they are still smart enough to compete in.

I have ariat performer boots and ariat crown pro chaps for competing and ariat heritage boots and ariat all round chaps for everyday. Had the ariat heritages for three years, used to be my good boots, only just had to replace them (and that was only because I promised myself if I won my ODEi buy a new pair!! pony won so had to buy the bloody things!). Had my old crown pro chaps three years too, the only reason I had to replace them is that my spur caught and ripped the elastic on the inside.
I love ariats, they fit my leg perfectly and the only chaps that go anywhere near long enough in the leg!
My old ariats were worn everyday and i have to admit not looked after, they still came up good as new when i was competing.
The performer boots are the middle ones and they have the lace up front and the zip at the back, though not a fan of zips on boots myself, one extra thing to break!!
Go to a good tack shop and try on a few pairs, dont buy them over the internet unless you know how theyll fit! Im normally a size bigger than I take in my ariats.

Ariat. I bought the Crown Gaiters and boots (cant remember which ones, maybe the Devon ones?) about 5 or 6 years ago and only now do I feel I need to think about possibly replacing them. Thats with using them every single weekend at shows

I bought some Tredstep chaps based on some recommendations on here. They are excellent - really comfortable and good-looking. Bit cheaper than Ariats too. I was thinking about Ariats, but the sizings didn't seem to work that well for my legs for some reason...

Can't help on the boots front really as I have Dublins and I luurve them!
