Well at least they're doing something about it, which is more than I can say for the bloody WPCS.

Summary of bullet points for those on mobile:
- All horses (mares and stallions) entered for grading have to be tested for PSSM1 first.
- Any horse P1/P1 is not eligible for grading.
- Any horse n/P1 is eligible for grading but the PSSM results must be made available to owners wishing to breed to/from the horse in question.
- CHAPS UK are going to keep a PSSM1 database.
- They "strongly suggest" that existing breeding stock is tested for PSSM1 (aye, and pigs might fly).

A good start from the society. May others follow suit.

I can understand why they are allowing one copy of the gene, too many breeders will be affected and vote with their feet and money if none at all were allowed.

Things can be changed later once this has been accepted by the members for a few years.
