Hi there,

Some of you may have seen that I and my friends are doing a jailbreak for charity next year. The charity event is organised by VRANCH and so fifty percent of money raised goes to them, VRANCH work with rover 2000 individuals with a variety of physical disabilities. Our chosen charity which will receive the other 50 percent of funds raised is the Air Ambulance.

We have decided upon the air ambulance following a thread on here earlier this year that queried how many horse riders on here donate to them. Considering the life saving service that they provide we thought that this would be a really deserving cause to support, not least because one of our team has had to be airlifted by them following a fall some years ago.

we will be on the run for 72 hours, the aim is simple, to raise as much for charity as we can and to evade capture. Many people who take part in this event try to get into the prison break records they set themselves certain tasks or challenges. One of our goals is to visit as many people in the uk that have been rescued by the air ambulance following a horse riding accident. We are also going to try to ride horses in each of the uk countries, anyone who could help us with that (riding schools and trekking centres) that would be fantastic. If anyone is able to help us out by offering any form of transport/help and stopovers for the night.... Again, we would love you forever!

We are also open to suggestions, possible goals, any ideas on people to visit to part them with their cash, and also we are looking for any equestrian business that would like to sponsor us, in return we will wear their logo everywhere we go.

Finally, and most importantly we are asking for the public to sponsor us, every single penny donated will be split between the air ambulance and VRANCH. We do not use any of the money donated to pay for our adventures! Below is a link to our 'my donate' page, you will see that our chosen charity is VRANCH, this is because you are only allowed to choose one charity per fundraising page, all money will go straight to VRANCH who will then provide us with 50 percent which will then be given to the air ambulance.

We will also be opening up a Facebook page so that people can follow our fundraising and our breakout, I will be posting links to both My Donate and Facebook in my signature.

I'd also like to thank Arizahn for the fab jailbreak picture which is featured on the donation page.

So, any ideas, questions, help, transport, suggestions, money.... Well it's all incredibly welcome and would be much appreciated!

The jailbreak sounds interesting !! Who is it you are trying to evade??

I already support the Warwickshire and Northampton air ambulance, BUT I can offer you a lift within parts of the West Midlands (Solihull/Birmingham) and Warwickshire (Leamington/Stratford upon Avon/Warwick) depending on when it is and if I'm not at work!

For rides in this area, try contacting Liz Beaty at Moor Farm Stables. One of her instructors (Michelle) had a nasty accident and had to be air lifted, so they support the cause. Or try Warwickshire College?

Oh wow JKO thank you, we are just starting to plan an approximate route and probably will be going that way, so will bear you in mind and also Liz.

Yes, I should have made it clear, it's the Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulance we are fund raising for.

We are trying to evade capture by the army (at least I don't think it's the marines anymore).

Not a problem at all :) just PM me closer to the time and we can swap details etc. once you know your route.

I haven't been to the stables for years, so not sure how much she is about and she might need a few reminders about everything! Not sure if she would charge you at all or not...

Moreton Morrell/Warwickshire College would be another one to consider, as aside from college equitation they do offer riding lessons, and have loads of horses. Adding to that, the air ambulance is there at least once a year, so I'm sure you could try to arrange something with them, and give marketing/publicity stuff as incentive to persuade them.. :p

There are plenty of users on the forum in the area too, so you never know you may get offered a ride on one of their horses on your quest to raise money.

I hope this post is a sufficient disguise for a little tiny bump...

Bearing in mind that we will be in England, Wales, Ireland (Northern and Southern) and Scotland. Does anyone have any suggestions of equestrian points of interest that we could visit?

I am in Somerset if that is any help regarding transport.
Racecourses could be a good place to visit if they have a meeting on you may get a warm welcome, or there are several BE events on that weekend around the country, shame you are too early for Badminton.
Points of interest, Cheltenham racecourse, Aintree, Newmarket, Ascot, Epsom.
Hickstead, Wiltshire white horses, look for big equestrian centres in each area that are holding comps on the day and see if you can visit.

Thanks BP, really appreciate the offer, Newmarket and white horse are already on the to do list, as are some horse charity stops, and we also want to visit some working horses, shire horses and police. Possibly also some famous equestrian art.

Anyone who can offer help with transport, I will figure out the route and then message you privately if we need your help :) thank you!

If I can help in Ireland I gladly will. I do need to point out though that Ireland is not a UK country so I would be wary of stating you are aiming to visit/ride in all countries in the UK and including Ireland in that provisio....it won't inspire much help.

Thank you, and good point! We intend to do north and South Ireland but will probably say something like 'including all uk countries' :) started route planning last night, since we will be on the go for 72 hours we hope to be able to get to quite a lot of places! next step is to try and nail it down with travel times. It's going to be exhausting and I will probably have to sleep for a week afterwards but I can't wait!
