After being unceremoniously dumped yesterday (own fault, not paying enough attention & unseated by a not very exciting spook šŸ™„) Iā€™ve replaced my hat today with a Charles Owen 4* based on its high safety rating. Itā€™s come with a magnetic clasp which I didnā€™t really bat an eye at but after getting it home the OH is looking at the clasp a bit suspiciously ā€¦ has anyone had any issues with this ā€œnewā€ clasp type? I quite like it but heā€™s put the heeby jeebies up me now šŸ™„

I don't have a Charles Owen, but have had a magnetic clasp on my hat over 4 years (probably time I got a new one ). I've never had a problem with it. I prefer it to the slot in clasp thingy I had on my last hat.

I like it but OH is suspicious of how easily it comes away when you pull on the tab ā€¦ having said that a plastic slot in clip isnā€™t exactly un breakable under the right circumstances šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I have had that had a couple of months - tool a little while to get the hang of it, but love it now. I have tugged on the harness a few times in different directions, and it hasn't budged.
I noticed a few riders in theit post xc interviews at Badminton had the a CO with magnetic clasp.

I have this catch and it drives me mad to do up but itā€™s never felt as though itā€™ll come undone. I only wear it if somethings a bit sharp so I donā€™t use it enough to get used to it. Very comfy and light though!
