if you have a bit of money to spend go for a patey, they are made to measure to ensure the correct fit. i wouldn't be without mine and have to say they really do look very smart. the after sales service is great, they have there stands at various event and if you pop in there they'll adjust it if needed or just clean it for you....bargain!

I have tried on both unfortunately, I am at the top end of the hat size scale, so the deep crown doesnt even make a size to fit, and the standard doesnt fit either

Charles Owen hats don't fit me either but I did manage to get one of their Beaglers on. I ended up buying a Horka and I have to say it is really comfortable.

I love my Charles Owen beagler, it is by far the most comfortable hat I own and the only hat that doesn't give me a headache. I guess it just suits my shape head, and for me the sizing is just right.

I have a Herbert Johnson one (so thats v old school!!) and a patey and they're both v comfy now i've got Patey Hat Jacks for them. You keep them in it when you're not using it and it keeps them stretched so when you put it on its SO much nicer to wear. Can go in any make and for £25 its definitely worth it!

James Lock do nice ones too, not as expensive as the Patey but a nicer shape than the Horka and Charles Owen
