Still having riding hat dilemmas... anyone have opinions on the Charles Owen 'Fiona' and the HP2000, and the HP2000 Squared? I have a showjumper xp, which i love comfortwise and fit wise but it is bulky, so I'm wanting a similar fit and style but possibly slightly slimmer for hunting this season...

not got any but love the look of the fiona i would get one with a harness though also there not exactly cheap

The Fiona is the slimmest, I have it. There are two safety standards in the UK and it hasn't met one of them. It's met the other though - so far I've been ok to wear it at all riding club events I've been to, though I always check the rules carefully and I've kept the hat it was replacing just in case.

My sister has the HP2000 which is lovely and fully comp as such. The only difference between this and the HP2000 squared is the latter has a bigger peak which doesn't suit a lot of face shapes. I think you're more likely to find the latter in the showring only, and not on the hunt field.

Thank you for your replies :) is there a massive difference between the H2000 and the Fiona? I only looked at the H2000 Squared as it says in the description that it was designed for showing and hunting (and there is one on ebay in my size!!) but I've never seen one - is the peak noticeably big? :) xx
