Hi There,
I've not done a show with Charlie in about 2 years, the last thing he did was a local hunter trial which he won
But every time another hack-able show has come up its clashed with a dog show. But, next weekend there is a very local 16 & unders show, for ponies 14.2 and under. Unfortunately im long since able to enter lol But as his sharer has impressed me so much with how she is riding him and looking after him, i sent her the schedule to see if she would like to take him a long! It has LOADS of classes (wish the "general" shows i could get to had as many!!lol) and he can do most of them!! She asked which class she should do on him so i told her a maximum of 2 SJ classes, or 1 SJ and 1 showing class depending on what she felt like doing as i think thats plenty for him. They have some mountain and moorland classes, Working Hunter and a Veteran class so she can take her pick of those! The SJ classes start at 1'6 and go up to 3'3. I have advised her to not do any smaller than 2'6 if she feels happy doing that as he tends to just crash through the smaller jumps lol. He isnt entirely unfit as he was hacking regularly through the winter, but at the same time, he's not fit enough to go jumping all weekend so i thought that was a reasonable agreement to come to.
Anyway, sadly I will be away at a dog show, we're leaving thursday with the caravan and not coming back til sunday night so i wont be going. Thats probably a good thing anyway as doesnt need me constantly watching what she's doing and I trust her and her mum to take good care of him. I have said that if she does go, she MUST send me pictures though lol I would love to see my little man at his first competition in years!!
But, how random is that... When i was looking for a sharer I wanted and adult who would only hack him. I've ended up with a 16yr old girl who is quite happy to only hack him, but i've told her she can jump him as well lol.
