Did the novice at Charlton Park this weedend with my mare, dont think I've ever got so wet in my life! Between the thunder storms on saturday managed a good dressage 30 (although it didnt feel great!) judge must'v liked her. Arrived back on Sunday for sj & xc, and guess wat it was tipping down again! SJ was causing absolute carnage, poles and riders flying everywhere! My mare was very fresh as had not had her usual hours grilling b4 the dressage. she jumped beautifully, clear untill the last fence, where I completely missed and we went flying! Luckly she managed to skid through the finish line b4 we actully fell, so only ended up with 4faults! Unfortunely she stood on my knee ( with massive stud!) so had to be stretchered off by the ambulance people. Managed to get on for xc ( after downing aload of painkillers) but pulled up after 4 fences as my knee was killing and I couldnt really do alot apart from hang on! oh well in absolute agony now, gona go an

I think I saw you! You were sitting at your lorry inthe first bit of parking, you're tall and skinny, and you were sitting on your lorry steps with a med looking at your knee?! I thought you were a bit mad to go xc!

Good luck for Aldon, and well done for dressage, am about to do my report, I was in your section.
 
ha ha yes that sounds like me! I think I was slightly mad goin xc too ( my mum was not to impressed) Luckly to painful to go beyond the fourth fence, I think I would of ended up on the floor again if id gone any further!
 
Oh how awful for you. I saw another unfortunate female rider in the S-J her horse skidded into the first part of a double and sat on its haunches. The rider was unseated behind the saddle & as the horse stood up had no option, but to ungracefully dismount. As she was circling to restart I heard the judge say that the bell had sounded again before she had re-mounted!

I parked between XC fences 2 & 3 so I had a good view of the start and last 3 or so fences as well from the comfort of my car. How painful for you & a shame after a good dressage score.
 
Jiffy! You mean to say you wimped out of going round with your uber camera of "great pics" fame?! Tcha - that wasn't rain, 'twas but a mere shower

I only took about 20 shots with my new camera. I heard the commentator announcing Bossanova's sister about to start and was fumbling with the settings so didn't even get a pic of her... but they did jump fences 2 and 3 nicely.

oh dear, I'm offically mad (according to the doctor!), have just got back from hospital in plaster from ankle to thigh! Got a fractured knee cap, and thers me trying to ride around the novice track yesterday whoops!
