It is time for the yak to be clipped again. We have no snow left and despite the fact he has been clipped once he is super hairy and getting warm even from half an hours work.

What would you go for? He had a blanket last time but I don't know if the weather might change again and besides I don't like doing lines!

Oh and here is said yak showing off his Christmas present. Isn't he handsome. Not! It's like a camel! Another very good reason for a haircut I think :D

All depends on what kind of work he's in. If in ridden work 4-7 times a week, then I would do a blanket clip again. As long as he is kept snug.

Mine always used to have a chaser but still got too sweaty so shes got a high trace (as u can see in my signature she looks very smart :)). Not that she's been ridden much since clipping thanks to the weather :().

Personally I like a blanket, but that's just because I think it looks the nicest, although I always end up taking the lot off as mine grows such a horrible coat back in summer if i don't take it all off!

I like certain clips on certain horses, I like my TB in a chaser and if I wanted to go up a grade I would go for a hunter clip - think curved lines suit him better.
However I was looking at a section D the other day that looked really smart in a blanket clip.
