What a day/2 days of eventing!
Went up on Saturday to do dressage, she was nice, obedient and calm, but lacked expression and perzaz, so scored an average mark, which is what we are aiming for at this point in time, although she did have a little jolly buck in her first flying change! She is so young and we have plenty of time to improve.
Stayed at SW123's which was brilliant! Her place is stunning, and Milly and Tog are just gorgeous! Milly is a real character, she loved all the attention and I think she is going to be a little superstar!
Borrowed S's car and had a lovely meal out with friends.
Onto the showjumping, it was really quite sticky and there were very few clears, Connie pinged round and we had a really unlucky rail off, but was pleased as Lucinda Fredericks told my mum it was a lovely round!
XC looked good nothing there we couldn't do. By this point though I had the worse of the weather and it was getting a little slippy..... I was soaked through by the time I got into the start box! Anyhows... mare absolutely flew and was incredible. I had the hugest grin on my face after the first water complex as she was so awesome! We had cheers and everything! Its always these moments you remember why you do the sport.
Was jumping out of her skin, so bold and controllable, all straight routes, but unfortunately at the 3rd fence from home we made up too much distance in the double of corners and she stumbled after and then slipped on muddy slidey landing which was downhill sending me flying! Really annoying but I guess its the nature of the game- the first time I have ever come off her too! I was a little winded and my back was sore so they wouldn't let me jump the last 2 fences....but I was lying in the mud really happy! Sounds strange but she was blinking awesome! Connie was looking at me going what you doing down there mum!
Currently in rather alot of pain... my poor bum! Over the moon though as although the result is bad I feel like she could be a 4* horse.
Pics here, out of the first water to a corner, as you can see I still hadn't gathered up the reins as she was a little to bold over the drop but she was only going to go. I will take them down later as might get frowned upon!
