Im at sheffield uni and am planning a horsey day trip out!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best day out of sat and sun at chatsworth, the websites not very helpful for a non eventer. Looking for the best day to watch xc, bigger the jumps the better!

Thankyou in advance :)

Chatsworth hore trials is one of my favourites, has a real family feel to the event, not too crowded and usually has a nice selection of stalls, catering and a main ring which hold various displays.

It’s a nice short walk around the course but you can see most of it from various points so you’re not trekking far between each jumps to see plenty of the XC action, last couple of times I’ve been it’s been glorious sunshine too, good day either day, you’ll really enjoy it.

It is my favourite event to visit! This year we've got a trade stand.

The Sunday has bigger fences and more well known riders.

For me chatsworth has a brilliant xc course that is varied to watch even for non-horsey folk. Probably the most interesting xc for watching after burghley! Honestly I was disappointed by blenheim after chatsworth.

There is entertainment all weekend too.
The shopping isn't the best but it isn't bad.

Etd to say HORSE trials, not hore trials!:o

I love Chatsworth and will be going on the Sunday as usual though might go to the Saturday too if OH is willing. If you like taking photos it's great because the loop of the course is close together in parts so you can easily take the same horse and rider over a number of fences. I also think the water complexes are fab. The shopping is o.k and as Kenzo said, the whole event has a really nice feel to it.....oooh I'm feeling excited now thinking about it!

Thankyou :)
Think we might head over on sunday, normally bramham is my fav and local but unfortunately have exams that week this year :( Not too fussed about the shopping, mainly as no money and would only have a fat and unfit pony to spend it on :p
