So I'm a little bit obsessed with getting a pair of brown riding boots, would love some brown Konigs but that kind of money is just obscene  so looking for a good value pair of long brown boots. No short boots sorry, never have liked them!

So here's the best part, my budget is around £50! I've spent hours/weeks looking for some and not getting anywhere, the best I've seen are a pair on ebay but dont particularly like the look of them that much. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADULTS-HO...Shoes_ET&var=580198531710&hash=item417382dae8

So does anyone know of some good value long brown boots? Ideally dressage cut at the top and if they do a wide fitting even better :) Can stretch a little above £50 if they are really nice.

Or just tell me they dont exist, stop being silly and buy some black ones :D

What size are you? For that price if you want new you are looking at cheap and synthetic ones, I think... Can't find any nice ones for less than £100:

Otherwise keep searching for used leather boots on Ebay - something like this?

Can you wait till Christmas and ask for a nicer pair as a present (or one boot and you buy the other?!).

Also look at Toggi Calgary. Lots on ebay depending on size for under £50 or you can get new ones for £65 to £70.

I have the black ones and like them a lot.

Jte Nebraska field boots come in brown but are £150

Mark Todd milestone boots come in brown and are fairly cheap now (but still more than your budget) but I wouldn't really recommend them as mine didn't even last 5 months

My sister has really nice brown leather gaiters with joddy boots, they look like long boots but cost a grand total of £35... The gaiters are Treadstone and £15 off ebay (there's a shop) and the joddy boots are Ariat leather ones.

Smartened up for competing.

if you don't mind 2nd hand they do come up - i had a pair of brown De Niro's recently for £60 and they were hardly worn!! Worth keeping an eye out if you don't mind they're not brand new.

Definitely dont mind 2nd hand as long as they are not too worn - I'm a size 6 (wide calf) so have been looking for a few months now.

Currently riding in country boot style things and hating it so definitely want proper riding boots, my old boots gave up on me so using country boots as a temporary measure! Cant afford more than £50 really even as an Xmas pressie - my fiance and I are getting married next year so we set a limit of £50 each so trying to stick to that!

Dont mind synthetic leather type materials (not rubber though!), I know they will be cheap and wont be amazing quality but if they can last the year I can get a better pair next year once the wedding is out of the way!

Glamourpuss - I've seen those and they are lovely, shame they only have the 1 fitting though! If they did them in a wide I'd have bought them, I have stupidly muscular legs so cant really fit into a standard leg.

MuddyTB - I had a pair of black calgary's before and they were ok, they didnt last long though and the zip would always fall down when riding (think its my fat legs again!) so I dont want to go back to them, shame though as they were nice looking boots!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone - think the combo of wide calves and brown boots for my budget is not ideal, maybe buy black this year then get that nice pair of brown boots next year? Have now fallen in love with these ones http://www.bareback-equestrian.co.u...nt-vintage-long-riding-boots-vintage-brown-2/

Not as pricey as Konigs but still out of reach! Have entered their comp anyway, I can always hope!

Treadstone boots off EBay are about £50 and the tall boot style has elasticated panels at zip. I've got a pair for everyday and they've been good value :-)
