To cut a long story short, I am suddenly without a h/w stable rug and what with the forecast as it is I need one asap!

Have had a look about but just wondered if any of you lovely people have any recommendations?

As cheap as possible please, I'm a poor student and am having to borrow money to pay for this!!!

Thank you :)

Try Old Dairy Saddlery, ordered stuff on a monday night and got it early wednesday (got into work at 8 and it was waiting for me). JHL do good heavy weight rugs for not alot of money.

Have you seen the Loveson/Allpro range? is you have other stable rugs they do an underrug combo which is M/W-H/W & I bought one last week at Ingatestone Saddlery (they've got a website) for £30..bargain.. & he's been absolutely toasty in it..have just been putting either his l/w or m/w stable rug over the top & for if it gets really freezing he's even got a H/W that can go over the top..hope that helps

These are super rug and excellent quality for the price. I bought them three years ago and they are still like new. They fit our chunky beasties very well.

They come in full, half and no neck and are 400 fill. That for me is a shame as I think they will be too hot for mine unless it is below -4 which is rarely is. They used to be 300 fill.

If money is really an issue why not try buying a Duvet from argos or tesco, own brand get at least a double if not a king sized should be able to get it for under £20 and put it on under a MW with a surcingle you will be surprised how warm he will be you can even wrap it round his neck a bit so he will stay cozy even on the coldest nights.

dont' worry about putting him to bed with a wet outdoor rug on = so long as its only wet on the outside - it will dry quickly :) best way to dry rugs imho
