At the minute all we have is cavalettis, very kindly made for us but we all know the problems with them and as i'm trying to get Connie to jump at the minute, they aren't the best idea.

Problem is, as a rescue centre, we can't afford to buy them and i am one of the oldest volunteers (at 17) so the volunteers do not have a lot of money. I think a few of us are willing to put money together but do any of you know of anywhere that sell jumps quite cheap, but still good enough quality. Or anywhere we could get jumps and poles from?

thanks!

Go to SCATS for poles, 8ft average quality for about £2.50 each or 12ft excellent quality for about £6.50 each. They are obviously just timber but you could always paint them if you wanted.

I bought a load of poles from Country Show Jumps (think they are in Suffolk), if you buy the rustic ones (cheaper) you can paint them yourself, you could always buy the shorter ones too which will be a bit cheaper. Look in your local Adtrader too.

What about oil drums or old car tyres for wings and/or jumps? You can get both free. Old pallets make pretty good wings too, if you're handy with a saw and hammer

If you have a handy DIY person you can make them out of fence posts. My dad made me a pile of jump stands out of fence posts (no wings) and we purchased the jump poles from the local saw mill.
