shires are good for broad horses and they've brought out various different weights of their top selling value 'tempest' range.
you can also get some really good deals at the moment (depending on the size of your horse) on some weatherbeeta landas, I picked up a 7' in a saddlery the other day for £35! combo freestyle. (a damn good rug, just hope my youngsters actually grows into it one day!!)

Another vote for Shires - we have our 3 good-shouldered middleweights in the tempest ones and they are about to go into their 3rd winter (washed, patched and reproofed each year). They're always cheaper on ebay too.

I just bought a Weatherbeeter Landa Freestyles Combo for £55 from Equestrian Clearance. These are great rugs and i find them quite roomy at the front.
