I'm about to purchase a horse...haven't had one in a while and the last one was on loan at it's own yard so came with all her stuff. This one comes with saddle & bridle, maybe one very torn up rug if i'm lucky. So I need to buy everything, wheelbarrow, broom, shavings fork, poo picker etc, feed bucket & water buckets, and also rugs, numnah, and all the other general horsey gear...Anyone know of anywhere really cheap?

For water buckets you can either pay £8 for tubtrugs at horsey stores or £2 at Asda. No brainer.
I bought my last broom at homebase for a tenner and it's still going after two years. I would pay for a decent wheelbarrow though designed for mucking out not for gardening - though half the price, the gardening ones fall apart. I don't bother with a poo picker - I just use a tubtrug and shavings fork to save money.
I got my rugs second hand off ebay - one of my stable rugs was only £7 and in perfect condition! There is also a website called equestrian clearance warehouse or something like that which has things pretty cheaply too.
Good luck with the new horse!

We have Proper Job - nice and cheap - agree with unbalanced - shop around supermarkets, diy stores and maybe mole valley farmers or sometimes Trego Mills has good deals !! Again agree - dont buy rubbish wheelbarrow - mine is mole valley and has been going years.

Have fun with new horsey ! very exciting !

Shavings fork, poo picker rugs & numnahs you will need to go to a saddlery or internet shop for those. All the other things like barrow/buckets etc you can get from any builders merchants/diy shop & as has been saif Asda for skips.

You will soon learn that if you can buy something from a non horsey outlet you will get it much cheaper. As soon as something is labeled 'equine' the price shoots up!
