Cheap recommendations for stable wall padding

I have priced up the EVA wall mats and they are looking pretty expensive and I need to cover the stable walls with something soft ish that if he kicks the walls (while stable rested) he won't damage his legs on?

Any good ideas?

Where did you price up the EVA? Have you seen them on Amazon?

Deeply old fashioned - but get burlap bags, stuff them with straw and nail them to the walls. You have to make sure you have the fabric pulled really tight so there are no loose of flappy bits (and it stops the straw sliding down) but it works perfectly well, is cheap and plus you can re-use the straw afterward (unless it is a mare who will probably have pee'd on it!)
