I get married in 3 and a half weeks and my hen do has fallen through (long story!) I would like a go on a riding weekend with my mum and my sister instead (I hate clubbing and I don't really drink anyway so its a bit of a blessing in disguise!)

Obviously its short notice now so I haven't much time, can anyone recommend anywhere? I'm smack bang in the middle of the midlands so anywhere is possible. Would it be cheaper to find our own b&b and a trekking centre and do it separately? Any recommendations for a trekking centre?
Thanks :)

(Oh and if anyone is thinking of getting married, go abroad and do it in secret, so much easier!)

Sorry to hear your hen do has fallen through. Who wants to get drunk wearing a net curtain and L plates anyway!

Many years ago a friend and I went to this place in the Brecon Beacons for a weekend http://www.tregoydriding.co.uk/index.php/riding-holidays.html

We stayed in farmhouse B&B which was very comfortable and went out in the evening to eat in Hay on Wye which is lovely. Went out on a lovely day ride with lunch at a pub and no road work if I remember correctly. Don't know what your budget is but they might be worth a call.

I hope you enjoy your hen night whatever you decide to do.

Thanks, that sounds just what I want to do! I'll have a look.

You're right about the hen do, after having to cancel because nobody had paid the deposit or shown interest despite chasing them, a group of them have now arranged to go out on that night anyway! Charming! Think I'll stick to horses lol

Tregoyd is great I went earlier this year! If you go tell Lydia (one of the guides) Pip says hi!

Really enjoyable weekend and the pub down the road has great food and is so so welcoming.

Sorry to hear your hen-do has fallen through :( Your alternative of a mini-riding-break sounds a much better plan anyways- something really special for you and your family to remember. :)

I can't recommend anywhere personally, but i was looking into doing something similar for my sisters birthday and came across this site:

http://www.transwales.demon.co.uk/special_offers.htm

Obv the special offers have just lapsed but maybe if you emailed/rang them and explained your story you could come to some sort of agreement on price? It's worth a go- worst they can say is no!

Anyways, good luck with getting it all sorted, keep us posted on the outcome! :)

About to recommend a similar thing run by FreeRein in Wales - they give you the horses and the maps and organised all the accommodation for you so its just you and your horses - perfect if you want a little adventure with mum and sister and some time together pre wedding.

Didn't do it as a hen do but I have ridden a lot of their trails with my father and we had a great time and it made us closer friends too!

Oh and its just 2 hours from midlands and I have done it as a weekend thing and it worked wonderfully
