Or is it a case of buy cheap, buy twice?!

I've already got a pair of Barbour wellingtons - but I'm finding them to be very slippery & already fallen over twice in them, so looking at alternatives before the real winter weather comes.

I like the look of Muck Company boots - but they are the most expensive of their 'type' & not looking to spend that much if I can. I've seen Harry Hall, ROK & Just Togs do similar versions for less money or am I better paying for Muckboot Co quality?

Good grip is an absolute must!

Defo go for the proper job or yes, you'll be buying more. Tyne muckboots can be ridden in, decent heel. Some Muckboots have fab grips, I don't see the point of the other ones with almost no grips, I memorably slid spectacularly down a slope in slippy ones, wish I'd been filmed!

Grubs boots - very similar, excellent quality. They do a riding style one too. Not sure how price compares but i much prefer the design of the sole on the grub boots than the muck boots. I always felt like i could feel every pebble under foot with the muckboots but my grubs are fab underfoot, but maybe that was just that particular style of muckboot.
