Does anyone have any experience with alternatives for proper mains floodlights (we don’t have mains electricity)?
I’m looking at getting a couple of the 1000lm work lights that builders use from screwfix. People say these are just enough light to be able to use a 20x40.
Any other recommendations or experiences with these?!
Thanks guys!

I use 2 of these in my shed gym. They're ok in the enclosed space. I'm not sure how good they'd be outside. I can check at the weekend in the back garden, if it would help. B&Q do a 2000lm version as well, that was way too powerful for my shed.

If you could check just so I know before I buy that would be great! I’ll have a look on B&Q too. Thanks!

I'll stick one out in the back garden Friday or Saturday night and see how much light it gives off and let you know.

I use these lights perched on the fence at E and B. They are sufficient for walk and trot but I rarely canter as the fence isn't overly visible in some parts of the school due to the lights!!

I've just put my 2 out in the back garden and I don't think they'd be particularly useful for you. Our back garden grassy area is about 5m and there were dark spots. You might find 4 of the 2000lm ones would be OK. B&Q do let you return things that aren't suitable (check though). You'd probably have to mount them reasonably high too. I think you can get extendable stands to do this though.

Hope this helps. :)
