I love my livery yard, but due to not a lot of storage space we have ran out of straw a few times. I like to have my beds mucked out and bedded down by five at the latest as this is when I take the girls in for the night, work them and then put them to bed so I can get home at a reasonable hour, but at times the new straw bale isn't delivered till after I have gone, doesn't bother most of the other liveries as they tend to be at yard after six or are on full livery so YM does the topping up in the evening.
So I was thinking of getting my own bedding and then I know the girls are always on a good bed, however I don't want to spend a fortune, so can anyone tell me the next cheapest option to straw please??
Oh and just to add, I am not keen on rubber mats with just a wee bit shavings as I think this is cold..well I am in Scotland! xx

My friend who has eventers uses 5 star bedding and loves it, they do an economic version which she still thinks is good which is about 3.50 a bag and 230 for a whole pallet which should last agess as once the bed is set up it only needs skipping out each day and then half a bag to a bag laid over each week to top it up.. Not to mention it takes her bout 10mins to muck out.. Would use it if my horses were stabled.
