cheapest shavings available? south west area...

Coming upto winter so were going to go back to shavings cause he hasnt got great feet... now i have a job at the weekends, mum says i have to buy his bedding typical

So... What are the cheapest shavings? Makes would be great, and also how much are they, do you get discount when you buy say 10/20/50+bags etc, where do you get them form?

There's Abacus Equine at Wincanton who have been advertising in the Blackmore Vale recently. No idea of quality etc. but there advertised at £5.53 + v.a.t which seems a good price as the shavings my Y.O buys in are £7.90.

I have managed to get excellent quality branded shavings for £7 per bale inc vat and delivery. They are big bales as well.

We get ours from what was West Country Feeds, but is now Countrywide, in Taunton. They do New Flake shavings, and a pallet of 36 bales delivered worked out at £6.41 per bale. I see they are having a special event at the Taunton branch on Saturday and shavings are advertised at "£5.99 per bale, 4 for the price of 3" that day only. I think you have to collect those in person though. Might be worth calling them; they are very helpful. They still advertise on the web as West Country Feeds.

Thanks for that. I THINK the girl i work with said they get chipmunk shavings for 5.80ish a bale, and also said she thinks another girl from the yard gets hers for 5.10, so will enquire about that. If not i think i will go to abacus thanks
