Anyone had any experience of check ligament desmotomy in their horse, particularly an older horse?
My horse injured his check ligament over a year ago and although he was rested and rehabilitated, it has reinjured whenever the work load has increased. This has left me in the situation that there is so much scar tissue on the ligament that surgery to cut the check ligament is the only option if he is to ever be ridden again or even remain sound.
I would be grateful for any experiences good or bad. Apparently the surgery has a 70% success rate.
