Er no. I beg to differ but I thought shortest day was around the 21st December. Even so the days are getting longer by Christmas. Yippee

it is the 21st. winter solstice. however, that's only a week longer than the 14th so not much in the grand scheme of things!

21st is shortest day but it might be the evenings getting lighter but it's darker for longer in the morning?

I think that's what happens after the 21st. Mornings are darker but more light in the evening.

I thought 21st but will go with the 14th if required they are both nearly here !!
The trouble is I always expect it to be noticeably lighter the following day & it never is - I really should know better

Yes with you there, but when feeling the drab winter glumness hemming me in - rather that the lovely crisp Winter days of blue sky, numb toes... but lovely color. Just imagine the Spanish islands,,,, hot sun, beautiful sandy beach... warm water and magnificent horse's galloping through the surf..... yes will go there again. Meanwhile the dream will help....

Better than darker 2 secs earlier!
